Brush basics.

There are a TON of different makeup brushes.. So many it can actually be confusing.. So I'm going to talk about the main brushes used on a face, so you can get a better understanding of how each brush works:)

Brushes for the face:

First we have a standard foundation brush. This brush I'd say is a good brush for a beginner.

These brushes can be used on any skin type. They are a little harder to work with because its easier for streaking to occur but as long as you blend the foundation well, the end result will look great! Also your best bet would be to get a brush with synthetic hair. The reason being is because if you get synthetic then the product doesn't sink in to the hair so that means no foundation is lost.

Stippling brushes are used  by a lot of makeup gurus!
They are used for liquid foundation and give more of an airbrushed look.
Stippling brushes are VERY easy to use and only require a gently circular patting motion all over the face. If you would like to buy an air brushing machine but you aren't sure it would be worth it maybe try using a stippling brush first to see if you like the result of it. Once again synthetic hair bristles work best. They actually do for every foundation brush.

Next is a pointed dome brush. This is used for blending in concealers and foundation.
Pointed dome brushes are used pretty gentle and should not be dragged on the skin.

A flat topped brush is mainly used for loose powder or compact powder It can also be used for powder or blush as well.  This is good for lots of control
and should be used very lightly on the skin. Since this is for applying powder you don't need to scrub your face with it.

Next is a fluffy brush. Fluffy brushes are also use to apply compact powder or loose powder. Since this brush is pretty big its super easy to get the powder all over your face. This brush should be used in a gently motion all over the face. Its only powder so no need to scrub:)

Moving on to a blush brush. This brush is obviously used for applying brush or bronzer to the cheek areas.
Since this brush is a good small size it is perfect for the cheeks and can be used to define cheeks, although using a blush brush is not the best brush for defining cheeks it will still work.

This brush is GREAT for defining your cheeks or adding highlight. It is an angled blush brush.

This brush is great for define/contour our cheeks we do it on an angle. So the angle brush is perfect for the job. This can also be used as a highlight. Its small and also good for blush.

For the eyes:

This first brush probably comes as no suprise, as most of you probably own a brush like this. Its a standard eyelid brush. This brush is used just for the
lids. Its very easy to use and is an essential in a makeup bag. If your good with eye shadow and careful you can also use this to add a crease color.

Next is a crease brush. This brush is used to get right up into your upper crease area and to add more definition to your eyes. This is pretty easy to use.

All you do is put your eye shadow into your crease and use this brush in a wind shield wiper motion. This defines the eyes and is great for adding multiple colors.

Next is a blending brush. The name basically says it all. Yes, this brush is for blending out your eye shadow to create a softer look.

Once you are done your eye shadow lightly go over the harsh edges with this brush to make a softer look. You should use this brush in a wind shield wiper motion.

Last there is an angled eyeliner brush. This brush is used to apply gel eyeliner on the upper lash line.

Since this brush has a sharp edge and is stiff it makes it very easy to apply eyeliner on the top. This brush could be used for liquid eyeliner if you dip the brush into it, but it would be difficult and this brush is mainly used for gel eyeliner.

I hope everyone finds this helpful.. I never knew how many brushes there were!
Thanks for reading<3
